I Hate Goodbyes

Sammy has left the building (I just have to add in this cheesy line)... I mean, Singapore. He's off to Taipei for SIX months for his attachment. SIX months without my dear little brother :( Oh man.. I miss him already. He's been such a close friend to me. Us two crazy people constantly laughing and confiding in each other in our problems. Great.. Now I feel like crying. Managed not to cry while sending him off at the airport this morning. I felt so sad while seeing him leaving from the checkpoint to board the plane. Then, during lunch at Popeye's with the rest of the gang, it felt weird without his presence there with us. I could feel my tears welling up while queing to buy the food; him not being there during service also felt like something's amiss. Argh! I sound so emo xD

I sound like I'm holding him back. Haha. But, it's a great opportunity and experience for him. I wish I have the chance to go on-campus at Aussie.. Now thinking that how much I'm gonna miss my family, spiritual family (esp!!) and my dear friends, perhaps it's best I stick around. Or else I'll be emo again, and fill 10 buckets up with my salty tears.

Love ya dik Sammy! God's with you every step of the way! Stay strong yea! HUGS~

I Thank You Lord

PRAISE THE LORD!!! I love, love, love You Father!! After many weeks of deciding and prayer, He has answered me beyond what I expected. That's what He does, catching me off guard sometimes, but in a good way. I've gotten a part-time job with the help of my Heavenly Father and earthly father too! Not just any ordinary part-time jobs which involve retailing, standing at the cashier, and always "wishing to be anywhere else but here" kind of jobs. But, my dream job! I will be working at Sopexa, a France-based company which manages the marketing and communications aspects of French winery, produce, and cordinates events such as French fairs at convention centres. I am super excited at this wonderful opportunity to gain experiences in the field which I am studying. For now, I will help out at the administrative area, but according to my senior, they will need me to be involve in writng the company newsletter, Salut, press releases, and the next PR event. Excited yet nervous. At the back of my mind, I fear that I am not capable enough. Studying and application is a world of difference...

I couldn't sleep on Tuesday night, was so nervous at the thought of my first interview the following day. I got at most three hours of sleep, and I woke up looking like a Zombie Panda (the horror version of Kung Fu Panda xD). Thank God for the invention of make-up. I looked fresher after that. Haha. Had a hard time finding the office, got lost a little, but I found it eventually, and wasn't late for the interview. *phew*. Being late for interviews is a big no-no. I liked the environment and the people. The boss is nice too :) The interview was really casual and informal, and she did not even ask for my resume (which took me hours to prepare). I will start work on Monday morning. On top of that, having an income of my own is definately a plus. I'm glad to lessen my parents' financial burden. So for now, mummy, you just have to pay my school fees =D Hehehe. Furthermore, Arise and Build, here I come with my hard-earned money!!!!

Big, big thank you to my dear CG for praying for me =) I love you W331! You rule!

Now that I need to juggle work and study, I have increased motivation to complete my assignments before the deadline and to give it my best. I have three assignments to chiong on. I can do it with His strenght! I can expand my capacity!

Went for dinner at New York New York with Simin and Chris. World, let me announce a comment that made by Simin on me: you slimmed down!!!!!!! Muahahahahahaha!!! Woohoo! Efforts does pay off! But, not much effort leh.. I have been eating alot. Had dinner with CG at Botak Jones on Tuesday night! Feeling oily (quoting Sammy. Haha). Anyway, had a fun girls' night out, though would have been more fun if Riny could join :( We ordered baked mussels which were divine, jiggy piggy (should be juicy piggy xD), good ol' pizza and mudpie (which I did not like. I stopped after two spoons...). Thank you Chris for paying off my outstanding amount. I stupidly thought I brought the right amount of cash =.= We took pictures! A pretty picture of a FREE cotton-candy! Haha. Taste better when it's free doesn't it. Will post the pics when I get them. Oh Chris........??

I Am Part of the Family

Again, has been quite a long time since my last entry. Either do not have the mood or time to do it. Well, assignments been flooding it. I was quite dissapointed at myself on my last Media, Culture and Power assingment as I was so silly to thought that the due date was a few days later. I just felt like kicking myself. I handed it in a day later, and got the 2% penalty for late submission. Positively, I'd rather hand in a quality work late than rushing it and hand it on time but with low quality. Now again, I feel like kicking myself because I do not have an idea for my next feature article piece. I do have a few, but, need to make sure it'll be a good one. And time is ticking away. Oh man, I really need to improve on my time management. I need to be more organised and buck up! Need to remember to do all things with excellence, i.e., exceed my expectations. And this semester, I have not been fulfilling that at all. Sorry God, for not doing my best to shine for You. I need to glorify You and be a much better testament. I need to persevere and endure! Be a good finisher!

Spent my last week finishing an awesome book, The Prayer of Jabez. I learned so much about praying and my spiritual life. Can't wait to read Good Morning Holy Spirit. Dor and I are going to swap books. Waha. Another book is Princess, a great book I borrowed from Ana. Sorry girl, I still haven't finish it yet... Hehe. But I love it! It shows the true and ugly side of an oppressed princess in Saudi Arabia. I feel so angry while reading it. Because she doesn't have any rights as a woman, and women are really third-class citizens. Though these are not instructions by Prophet Mohamed, the women really do not have any freedom. So sad la... And it's already the twentyfirst-century for pit's sake! Argh~~ *Feminist* I truly thank God that I'm born in such a blessed nation and family that I'm not oppressed in anyway, and can practice religion freely :)

Okay... I need to chill. Haha. Oh yay, I went for newcomers' dinner at Roland Resturant. Good food! And had fun! The highlight is that we took pictures with pastors!!

Pastor Kong! Our spirtitual father =) And founder of the rockin' God's house - CHC!

Pastor Dereck!

Pastor Aries! Dari Indonesia juga. Oh man... I misplaced the photo with Pastor Zhuang, our zone-supervisor. And, did not manage to take photo with Pastor Tan. Shucks..

Yay, I'm part of CHC family~~!! ^^

Mercy by Parachute Band

This song really touches my heart with its beautiful lyrics and melody. Indeed, without God's mercy, I wouldn't have been where and who I am. You have always been my Father when I did not have one. You were always with me. I love You Dad!!! *hugs*

Here I am a sinner
Broken and in need of You
Take my life and wash my fears away

For You are the great I am
Rest assured I need Your hand
Holding me untill the darkness comes

Father to the fatherless
Redeemer of my soul
My life is Yours forever
My heart will always know

Your mercy save me
Mercy made me whole
Your mercy found me
Called me as Your own

Festival of Praise 08

Yes, it's another year of FOP! A time of amazing praise and worship, enlightening sermons and a preview of what heaven would be like. Worshipping Him for eternity... Singing of His love, glory and mercy forever and ever. Wow! Can't wait for that.

Day one was great!! The atmosphere was so hyped up, everyone came with expectations to encounter God. Reuben Morgan (AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH~~~~~~~) and the Hillsong team (AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH~~), Parachute band (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) and Pastor Mike Conner (WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~~~~~~) really ministered us into His presence. Oh, I met Melina! My goodness, she has changed soooo much! She has metamorphesised into a MEI NU!! She looks so xiao jie now xD She used to be quite tomboyish. Haha. Now guys are gonna drool after her. Mom came for the second night ^^ She enjoyed the sermon.
I went for all three nights, and no regrets! Kudos to Dor, Ash and JH going for all three days too. I would have regretted if I did not go. Oh, Pastor Kong came for the third night!!!! Yay~~~ I did not missed him. Though I was really tired, I went all out to jump and sing, but I feel so refreshed and energised! Had a time of my life with God :)

And here's one of my highlight of the event. The third night, I couldn't resist, and bought Parachute Band's album because there was an autograph session!!! Wahahahaha. I was so excited! Dor, Ash and JH accompanied me, I felt rather embarressed as I NEVER went for this kind of meet-and-greet session. But they're awesome! A bunch of men who use the talents God has given unto them. Their music has such strong annointing! The lead singer's voice is seriously God-giventh. Saw Omega in person (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH), I was quite flustered (hehehe) when he said: "Aren't you jolly and cheerful." Hahahahahaa. Perhaps because I was smiling like an idiot, or positively, I have the joy of the Holy Ghost. Hahahaha. I took a picture with him!! And got all their singatures on the album cover and CD. I was like on cloud nine after that. They are so nice and asked for our names. So friendly! Dor they all were like: OUT OUT! xD Omega........... *blush* I think I developed a minor crush on him la... Can't help it, he's cute =P Furthermore, was really touched by his testimony. Sorry God, I still love you more okay?? More than everyone (including Omega.......) and everything!

Omega Levine *scream*.................... He's so cute and teddy-bearish. Haha.

A special page for Omega (okay, I seriously need to stop this sillyness)

Looking forward to PB's next album release, Technicolour, and FOP 2009!!

Higher Diploma Graduation Ceremony

The ceremony was held at Raffles City Convention Centre and Miss Irda was the emcee! Doing her job as a PR. The atmosphere was overly-serious, so us being mass commers did our job in contributing to noise pollution. Wahahaha. We were the noisiest bunch. We were the only ones who stood up and cheered for Jaya when she received her Outstanding Student Award. And I cheered for my fellow classmates when they go up to stage one-by-one. I think people must be thinking amusedly that I was some hyperactive kid.

Aww... A "Brokeback Mountain" moment xD Aduh, pak cik Ponco doesn't know how to tie a tie properly *smack head*. He needs to dress up like that more! He always dresses in berms and baggy shirts. Oh, he looked sharp in shirt and pants. Next time ladies will be drooling over him in the office. Ahahaha. (Arnold: "This feels so wrong.")

Getting ready in the changing room. Make-up, check; gown, check; sash, check; mortar board, check.

All hail Father Barry Benjamin Chua. Hahahaha. He really does look like a priest. He was my lecturer for Web Production. The classes were so fun! Rather than being serious, we often gossiped and cracked corny jokes. That explains the Pass I recieved for that module. Hehe. He's one ultra humourous and cynical guy; so round and jolly as well xD

Queuing up to go up to the stage. Spotted me? (Oh... so THIS is how my back looks like)

Presenting............. RHM7-01F/FF. Class of 2007!!!!! WOOHOO~~ (Okay, my gown was falling apart. I was drowning in it! They should provide XS or petite sizes for shorties like moi)

Our three juniors.

Hehehehe =D

Aww... My dear girls :)

Miss Irda!! ^^ One of my favourite lecturers. She taught us PR and Advertising. One nice lady (=

Matthew super extra...

My fellow countryman! Hammond the Johor boy. Again, went through torturous GLSs with him last year. (Oh dear, I look so chubby =.= Darn you camera angle!!)

Jaya!! Outstanding Student 2007. So proud of her!!!!!! *kisses* (Matthew extra again!)

One of the extremely-nice and polite admin staff =) She's so sweet... Oh the food was gooood! Especially the sour-dough tuna sandwiches... We were like a bunch of starving refugess. After the ceremony has ended, we charged to the buffet and bar. Chiong ah!!!

I can't wait to see our "power ranger" (long story... An insiders' joke. Right Ana? *wink*) shot.

Glroy, glory Mass Comm United~~~ Glory, glory Mass Comm United~~~ Sounds like a soccer team.

Our headmaster. He's so cute and smiley; like a friendly grandfather.

Miss Mona!! Love her!

Yoz... All the girlz in da club...

WE ARE THE GRADUATES!!!!

I really enjoyed myself. It was such a blast. I would have regret it if I did not go. Congratulations to us all. Oh man, am sooooo gonna miss all of them after we are done with Uni =( I love all you guys!! XOXO

For He's a Jolly Good Fellow

Yes, yes, I haven't update my blog for two weeks. Well, pretty much nothing to talk about. Do not want to bore you guys with Structuralism, Post-structuralism, High Culture, Mass Culture, Marxism and what not. School's been fine, but I just realised I have an assignment due next Thursday, and don't have a clue how to go about doing it... yet =

Anyways, it was my brother's 25th birthday on Wednesday! He's halfway to 50!! *Gasp* Had a simple celebration for dear gor gor.

Okay, I look rather retarded here.

Chocolate Supreme... It was really rich and not exactly a cake, because the ratio of fudge to flour is like 4:1. But I can imagine my dear chocoholic duo - Ana and Dor - drooling over it and indulge it. I lean more to vanilla.

Decisions, decisions...

Picture time! Okay, we look yellow. It was my fault... I forgot to turn on the flash =.= And I look rather emo with the cap and oversized top. It was freezing due to the heavy rain la. When I reach home, suddenly got fever and my stomach didn't feel well. But, thank God for healing, because after awhile, they were gone!

Oh... The food was GOOOOD~~!!!! Honestly, the BEST Butter Prawn I had in a decade or two.

Had my Graduation Ceremony today and was SOOO, SUPER, DUPER, EXTREMELY, TOTALLY FUN!! The ceremony itself was a tad boring due to speeches by professors from various Unis. However the pre-recorded one by Cambridge was quite interesting. After the ceremony we totally cam-whored and took hilarious pictures with our ever so fun-loving lecturers xD Can't wait to see the one we took with Mr Barry, 'cos we did a Power Ranger pose (guess who's smart idea it is? Hehe. Moi =P). He's so on la. Ahem, I need to get rid of my Singlish habit sometimes. I meant, spontaneous; but he's a rather strict marker. The ceremony will be left to my next post once I get all the photos!
